The Creston to Nakusp route is considered one of the best motorcycle rides in Canada. Ride Stop and Go says it is a motorcyclists dream roller coaster ride.
This area has always been a favorite destination for family camping trips (that include taking boxes of fresh fruit back home).
The beauty of the Kootenay Lake entices many tourists to buy recreation property so that they can stay as long as possible.
The Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area attracts birders from around the globe.
There are an abundance of places to flat water kayak and trails to hike.
More recently mountain bikers have discovered some amazing trails, especially at Pilot Point.
In the winter this area attracts back-country skiers with easy access to the alpine.
Fishermen and hunters have always found our vast wilderness abundant with game.
The array of local festivals and events engage locals and visitors alike.
Agrotourism is fairly new to our area. Until recently the local farmers did what they do best – farm. With the advent of a new generation of farmers, locals and visitors are being invited to the farm. At the farm visitors can experience first hand where their food comes from. The Creston Valley is very special because we grow and produce all kinds of food, including fruit, veggies, meats, dairy products and even wine.
The local wineries with their tours are attracting tourists who appreciate the cultural aspect of food.
This area is noted for being artsy, with many home-based studios. Every summer there is a very popular monthly Wine Art Bus Tour that shouldn't be missed.
