Incorporated in 1965, the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) is a local government that serves an estimated population of 60,000 residents. Area A serves the communities of Boswell, Sirdar, Sanca, Wynndel, Gray Creek, Kootenay Bay, Riondel, Twin Bays, Kuskanook, Pilot Bay and Crawford Bay. Garry Jackman, Population - 2,030 (2011 stats)
Area B 
serves the communities of Canyon, Erickson, Lister, Huscroft, Rykerts, Arrow Creek, Yahk, Goatfell, Kingsgate, Kitchener, Glenlily, Goat River Bottom and the Lower Kootenay Band. Tanya Wall, Population - 4,464 (2011 stats)
Area C
